Hello World and Happy Sunday!

It’s been a while since the last Sunday Round-up, but I’m back and ready to continue the documentation of my process! The #100repchallenge was successful in that it helped to kickstart a practice of consistent writing and 100 poems entered the digital sphere. Since the last time we spoke, I have taken my practice offline, shared my poetry with live audiences again for the first time in YEARS and been trying to learn to roller-skate.

But I’m back with a new project: 100 Tiny Experiments. The focus this time is on PLAY. On really exploring my artistry beyond my comfort zone. This means experimenting with my writing in terms of form and subject. At the moment on the Tiny Experiments page there are three works on there. But I would like to play around with visual storytelling, continue to practice with different poetic forms and expand into perhaps short-stories, scenes, and comic strips. The only rule is to post something 1x week. Let’s say FRIDAYS. This space has always been a place of learning and I’m excited to get on record all of the influences and inspirations that arose along the way.

The Curios School of Puppetry Showcase, London– wonderful showcase from the latest graduates of the training course. A variety of styles presented, from marionettes and hand puppets to object manipulation.

Roba Como un Artista/Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon– one of the biggest take-aways from this book was how we can create our own artistic lineages. An exercise I would like to do is come up with my own artistic family tree. Choosing three artists who inspire me the most, study all their works and then find out who they were each inspired by to grow this tree.
